Project archive
Removing a project from active views without deleting it.
The project archive is where projects go when they're no longer active but shouldn't be deleted. Archiving removes a project from the main project list while preserving all its data.
What archiving does
When a project is archived:
- It disappears from the main project list in the workspace home
- It stops appearing in cross-project search results unless the user explicitly searches the archive
- It preserves all data: nodes, edges, history, custom fields, comments
- It can be restored to active status at any time
Archiving is reversible. Deleting is not.
When to archive vs delete
Archive a project when:
- The work is complete but you want to keep the structure as a reference
- The project is paused and may resume later
- The project served its purpose and you want it out of the way without losing the record
Delete a project when:
- The project was created by accident
- The data is genuinely unneeded and you want it gone permanently
- You're cleaning up after a duplicate you don't need
Deletion is permanent. Archive is the safer default.
Archive access
Archived projects are accessible from a dedicated archive view in the workspace settings. Users can browse, search, restore, or permanently delete projects from there.
Tier availability
Project archive is part of the core feature set, available on Free, Paid, and Team.
