Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Tree is currently in pre-launch. The website (treeapp.io) is the only public surface. For any privacy-related questions or requests, contact info@treeapp.io.

2. What we collect

Right now, Tree collects:

• Email addresses submitted to the waitlist signup form. Used only to notify you when Tree is ready. Stored securely. Not shared with anyone.
• Basic server logs, automatically collected by our hosting provider (Vercel). Includes IP address, user agent, and request timestamps. Used for security and debugging. Standard for any website.

That's it for now. We don't run analytics yet. We don't use tracking cookies. We don't have user accounts.

3. What we'll collect later

When Tree launches the product, we'll need to collect more (account email, project data you create in the app, payment info if you subscribe). We'll update this policy and notify waitlist subscribers before any of that happens.

We may also add privacy-friendly analytics (such as Plausible) to understand how people use the site. If we do, we'll update this policy and add a cookie/consent notice.

4. How we store it

• Waitlist emails are stored by Kit (kit.com), our email service provider. See their privacy policy at kit.com/privacy for details.
• Server logs are retained by Vercel per their standard policy.
• Nothing is sold, shared with marketers, or used for advertising.

5. Your rights under GDPR

If you're in the EU/UK (or anywhere, honestly), you have the right to:

• Access the data we hold on you
• Correct any inaccurate data
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to how we process your data
• Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these, email info@treeapp.io. We'll respond within 30 days, usually much faster.

6. Cookies

Currently: none of consequence. The site doesn't set tracking, analytics, or marketing cookies. There may be technical cookies set by our hosting provider for security or performance, but nothing that identifies or tracks you across visits.

If this changes (e.g., we add analytics), we'll add a cookie consent banner and update this policy.

7. Third parties

We use the following third-party services:

• Vercel — website hosting (vercel.com/privacy)
• Kit — waitlist email storage and delivery (kit.com/privacy)
• GitHub — code hosting (no user data passes through GitHub)
• Namecheap — domain registrar (no user data)

If we add analytics (Plausible, etc.) later, they'll be listed here.

8. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page whenever the way we handle data changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. For significant changes (e.g., adding analytics), we'll also email waitlist subscribers.
