About Tree
Project management built around the metaphor of a tech tree.
Tree is a project management app built around the metaphor of a tech tree, the kind found in strategy games like Civilization, Stellaris, and Total War. Tasks are nodes, dependencies are connections, and work unlocks when its prerequisites resolve. Tree is built for people who think in branches instead of lists.
Tree is a project management app built around the metaphor of a tech tree, the kind found in strategy games like Civilization, Stellaris, and Total War. Tasks are nodes on a graph. Dependencies are the lines between them. A node unlocks when its prerequisites are complete. The whole project sits as a literal tree of progress, with the visible structure encoding what's blocking what, what's available to start, and what's coming next.
Existing project tools treat work like a list. Tree treats it like a graph. The difference matters when the work isn't linear: when scope is uncertain, when branches need to be explored in parallel, when prerequisites cascade, when planning is the actual work and not just the setup for it.
Tree is built for developers, operators, and technical project managers who play strategy games and find tools like Linear, Notion, Jira, and Plane sterile, bloated, or aesthetically dead. It's opinionated software for people who think structurally, who want to see their project instead of scrolling through a backlog, who appreciate when a tool has a point of view.
Tree is currently in pre-launch. The marketing site is live at treeapp.io. The app ships when it's ready.
