Advanced date queries
Date-based filter criteria supporting relative ranges, recurring patterns, and structural date logic.
Advanced date queries are date-based filter criteria that go beyond simple "date equals X." They support relative ranges, recurring patterns, and structural date logic for filtering and search.
What date queries support
Date queries cover:
- Absolute dates: "created before 2026-03-01"
- Relative dates: "due in the next 7 days," "completed within the last month"
- Date ranges: "due between June 1 and June 15"
- Recurring patterns: "due on a Monday," "created in Q1 of any year"
- Empty / null dates: "nodes with no due date set"
- Comparative dates: "due before today," "completed after the project deadline"
These can be combined with non-date criteria using Advanced filtering.
Which date fields are queryable
By default, date queries work against:
- Created date
- Updated date
- Due date (see Reminders and due dates)
- Completed date
- Custom date fields (see Custom fields)
Common uses
Date queries are most useful for:
- Finding stale work: nodes in-progress for too long (also automated via Stale-state alert)
- Reviewing recent activity: what was completed this week
- Forecasting: what's due in the next sprint or quarter
- Cleanup: nodes with no recent updates that might be candidates for archiving
Tier availability
Advanced date queries are part of the core feature set, available on Free, Paid, and Team.
